  • What is the minimum cost for a project on our home?

    Bathrooms, carpentry, and kitchen jobs vary from project to project; however, we don’t have a minimum dollar amount as we like to work with an individuals’ budget from project to project. Typically, bathrooms can run approximately $15,000 and up. Kitchens can run approximately $30,000 and up. Scope of work usually entails design, full demolition, electrical/plumbing relocation, cabinet installation, flooring, tile, recommendations/installation for countertop and appliances. Carpentry jobs vary project to project.  

  • Does The Difference design kitchens?

    Most of our kitchens are designed through Hermitage Kitchen Gallery. Depending on the job and customer needs, we can design select kitchens. Design fees apply.

  • What is a typical time frame for a kitchen?

    We strive for a 7-week full kitchen. As always, some projects require more or less, depending on the finishes. 

  • What is a typical time frame for a bathroom?

    Bathrooms range from one week to four weeks (simple to complex).

  • How will you protect our home throughout construction?

    We do everything we can to best ensure that the proper floor and dust protection are in place for the best protection for your home.

  • Do you take care of getting rid of construction debris?

    Yes, included in your price is a jobsite dumpster.

  • Do you have written contracts for jobs?

    Yes, we have written contracts with scope of job, price, estimated start date, and terms and conditions of the job.

  • What equipment will be on the jobsite?

    We have a trailer that we will park at most of our jobs throughout the duration of the project. If there isn’t room for the trailer, we will make accommodations on a job-to-job basis. 

  • Will remodels add value to our home?

    Kitchen and bathroom remodels are considered to be a great return on investment as they are the biggest thing that home buyers look for in a home. Also, these spaces are typically where homeowners spend the majority of their time. 

  • What is the process for a kitchen remodel?

    • Design and layout
    • Selecting and ordering materials (cabinets, appliances, backsplash, etc.), this typically requires the longest time due to all parties having different shipping times.
    • Demolition
    • Rough framing
    • Rough electric
    • Drywall/Mud
    • Paint
    • Flooring

  • Who buys the project materials?

    Every job is different. We prefer to purchase the materials to ensure the right quantity and correct pieces and parts are ordered and on the jobsite before start. However, some clients will purchase certain items such as tile or bathroom vanities.
